Getting from Koh Chang Pier to Bangkok
A Thai Go private transfer from the Laem Ngop pier to Bangkok covers about 325 km and takes 4 hours 50 minutes. The driver meets you at the pier after the crossing from Koh Chang and drives you to any address in Bangkok or to an airport terminal. No waiting for other passengers, no changes.
Route and travel time
From Laem Ngop to Bangkok is about 325 km on Route 3 (Sukhumvit) through Trat, Chanthaburi, Rayong and Chonburi, joining Motorway 7 or the Bang Na–Trat highway on the approach to the capital. In normal traffic the drive takes about 4 hours 50 minutes.
The driver waits at the pier with a name sign — you step off the ferry and straight into the car. The fare is locked at booking, tolls are included, and the destination is yours to choose: hotel, apartment, train station or airport terminal.
Planning around your flight
Count the whole journey from your hotel: a songthaew or taxi to the pier on Koh Chang, the 45-minute ferry, the queue to board and 4 hours 50 minutes across the mainland. Door to door, allow at least 7 hours.
If you are flying out of Bangkok, give us the flight number at booking — we will time the pickup at the pier so that you reach the airport at least 3 hours before an international departure.
Morning ferries are more predictable than evening ones: the queue is shorter and the mainland leg is done before the evening jams on the way into Bangkok. In high season that is a difference of an hour or more.
Why not a bus or a taxi at the pier
You still have to get from Laem Ngop to the Trat bus terminal, and the bus to Ekkamai takes 5–6 hours with stops and arrives on the eastern edge of Bangkok — from where your journey to the hotel or airport is not over yet.
Taxis at the pier work without a meter: the price is quoted on the spot, when you are already holding your suitcases and have no alternative. You cannot book one in advance, and they do not plan around the ferry.
A Thai Go transfer is a flat per-car fare: from ฿3,800 for a Comfort car seating up to 3 and from ฿4,450 for a Minibus seating up to 9.
