Getting from Bangkok to Koh Kut Pier
A Thai Go private transfer from Bangkok to the Laem Sok pier in Trat province covers about 340 km and takes roughly 5 hours. The car picks you up at your address in the city and drops you right at the pier where the Koh Kood boats leave. The boat ticket is bought separately and is not part of the transfer price.
Route and travel time
From your address in Bangkok to Laem Sok is about 340 km: out via Motorway 7 or the Bang Na–Trat highway, then Route 3 (Sukhumvit) through Chonburi, Rayong and Chanthaburi to the town of Trat, and a final 20 km south to the pier. In normal traffic the drive takes about 5 hours.
We collect you from a hotel, apartment or office at any hour. The fare is locked at booking, Motorway tolls are included, and there is no early-departure or luggage surcharge.
The pier and the boat to the island
Laem Sok is the main pier for boats to Koh Kood and Koh Mak. The driver drops you at the ticket offices and you buy the ticket yourself: the transfer ends at the pier, the car does not cross to the island.
The crossing takes roughly one to one and a half hours depending on the vessel. There are only a handful of sailings and most of them leave in the first half of the day — the timetable shifts with the season, so it is worth booking the boat with the operator in advance.
Because of that early timetable, plan to leave Bangkok overnight or at dawn: the drive is around 5 hours and you want a margin before the boat. If you land late, it makes more sense to overnight in Trat and cross in the morning.
Why not a bus or a shared minibus
The scheduled bus from Ekkamai terminal takes 5–6 hours to Trat and arrives at the bus station, not the pier — from there you still need a songthaew to Laem Sok, and it waits until enough passengers turn up.
Tourist minibuses leave on their own schedule and collect passengers around the city. Timing a specific morning boat with one of them does not work: any delay on the road costs you a day on the island.
