How the Bangkok to Koh Chang transfer works
A Thai Go private transfer from Bangkok to Koh Chang covers about 360 km and takes around 6 hours including the ferry crossing. The car picks you up at your address in the city, boards the ferry at Laem Ngop and drives on to your hotel on the island. No changing vehicles, the fare is locked at booking, and the ferry is paid separately — ฿100 per person.
The drive from Bangkok to the pier
From your address in Bangkok to the Laem Ngop pier is about 325 km: out of the city via Motorway 7 or the Bang Na–Trat highway, then Route 3 (Sukhumvit) through Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. The drive alone takes about 4 hours 45 minutes, before the crossing.
We pick you up wherever suits — hotel, apartment or office, at any hour. The fare is locked at booking and does not depend on departure time, season or passenger count. Motorway tolls are already included.
Crossing to the island
The car takes you to the Laem Ngop pier and boards the ferry with you. The ferry ticket is paid separately on the spot — ฿100 per person, it is not included in the transfer price. After the crossing the same car drives on to your hotel or address on Koh Chang.
The ferry takes about 45 minutes. There is no transfer and no dragging suitcases: you stay with the same car and the same driver the whole way, including the drive across the island to your beach.
Allow extra time for the ferry itself: it runs on a schedule, the last sailings are in the evening, and in high season there can be a queue at the pier. Leaving Bangkok in the morning is more comfortable — you catch a daytime ferry and check in before dark.
Why not a bus or a taxi on arrival
The scheduled bus from Ekkamai terminal takes 5–6 hours to Trat, and then you still need a songthaew to the pier, a ferry ticket and another taxi on the island. That is three changes with luggage and 8–9 hours door to door, instead of one car.
Taxis at the pier charge separately for the island leg, and you negotiate the price on the spot — after the crossing, with your bags in hand and no idea what the going rate is.
A Thai Go transfer is a flat per-car fare: from ฿4,000 for a Comfort car seating up to 3 and from ฿4,650 for a Minibus seating up to 9. The only extra paid on site is the ferry, ฿100 per person.
